So I bought an Indian. Was looking for something faster than a Jeep and cheaper than a Corvette, while also being fat-guy-friendly. Score. Installed some Vance & Hines slip-ons the same day I changed out the break-in oil. 100% satisfied. Added bonus is that it’s louder than my white-supremacist-neighbor’s Dyna, which bothers him more than it tickles me. Score again.
As an engineer, this is the least offensive cruiser I could find. The engine is a stressed member and has a bunch of cams and valves. The frame castings are well formed and free of flash, too. The cherry on top is that it’s beautiful in a curvy, functional way. 10/10 pleased with the purchase, would do again .
The day I brought it home.

That is gorgeous. The tan seat works so well

Thanks! Drawback is that it’s hard to get matching bags. I mean, Indian will sell you shockingly expensive bags that perfectly match the seat, but I spend all my fun money on meat and beer. First world problems, I suppose!

This bike’s got a great stance! It’s leaner and lower than the giant rolling compensators that the white supremacists like.

So I do love the bike, but you bought it as something fast while getting one with the riding position that makes you desire to not go fast?

Awesome, I love the Indians new and old.

Beautiful bike. Literally the only cruiser type bike I would own.

Really good looking bike!

Beautiful! I really want to get my license and get a scout sixty, but I'm lazy and also incredibly broke so.....

I can identify with being broke and “unmotivated”. I will say that the MSF class was only $50 and was a pile of fun. So keep that in mind!

Thanks!

Thanks! I would have also considered a Victory Octane (sportier version of the Scout), but they stopped making Victories like 20 minutes before I got my endorsement. Procrastination station, over here.

Well yeah, for now. I’m just thinking at some point I may want to do something stupid like spend a few days on this thing. Might want bags for that. For now, I’m content with day-trips.

It’s a cruiser, which is comfortable by nature, that isn’t limited to just being loud and slow. I bought it for the style and seating position, the speed is just a happy bonus.

Haha, yeah the low and long look is what drew me to these in the first place. The frame and engine details are outstanding, which makes my engineering self smile. The power is pretty good, which makes my Neanderthal self smile.

Yeah hopefully next year, don’t want to push it too hard on the wife, her uncle died on a bike.

The few times I have driven a cruiser I find myself just wanting to go slow. Like it’s too much work to fight the wind and go fast, so why not just go slow.
